(These were written somewhere around November 2015. They are fairly recent considering my devotion to this craft over the past “lost” decade. I was teaching these to my students this year, and felt obligated to create my own as an example. I am actually pretty happy with this work. If you don’t know what an acrostic is, go look it up. It’s worth your time.)
Dreaming of life moments
Under a warm blanket in a cold room
Calming thoughts slip into my mind
Kindly leading me off to sleep.
Every so often, life has its downs.
Remember, they’re only temporary;
Something wonderful lies just around the corner.
