(This was written some time around 1995.)
Away in the woods underneath mystical skies
And NO COVER CHARGE!
I, enjoying the nature of life, ponder what surrounds me.
How one day to another
We see different perspectives
People – old and new – living the life of the tumbling river,
Winding its way into the mainstream of life
Constantly rushing over every smaller form in its way.
While you and I are a little different,
And by this I simply mean
That the lives we lead are ones of small creeks atop mountains,
The ones that cross into the Mainstream,
But only pass through every now and then.
We are observers.
Streams like us, unlike those trends that infect the oceans, go on forever.
Smaller — but FREE!!
Free from rushing,
Free from status,
Free from money,
Free from fear and hatred,
Free to live the path taken
As slow and adventuresome as possible.
