Sangria

(Written on 6-03-1997. This is an edited version so I don’t know which words I crossed out. I did a pretty good job of scratching out the ones I didn’t want. I must have been pissed or something.)

I write by candlelight

She waits in the dark

The rain begins outside…

inside.

I watch for her each night

Whispering her name

Kissing tender lips

Sangria.

I write by candlight

She lay at home

In Their bed

Thinking.

Strange how the night works

Each morning, each afternoon,

Eventually fade to dusk,

Ask dusk eventually turns to dawn,

I write by candlelight.
